Population
St Laurent is one of the largest Metis communities in North America. It is a bilingual community which is one of the few remaining speakers of Miscif Freanch language. St. Laurent was chosen in 2004 by the prestigious Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC for their inaugural exhibit located in the new National Museum of the American Indian.
